Activision introduced a new security measure to prevent cheaters to quickly return to game after a ban. 2FA in this case means that you need to confirm your account via SMS code, so you will have to use new, working phone number every time you get banned. This seems to be major problem for cheaters and so far it is working fine.
I am really happy if this proves to be true in long term, as a console player I understand why some of us blocked crossplay for this reason, but never liked it. I truly believe that future of games is in playing same games on whatever system you like and only advantage you should have is perhaps better graphics on more powerful systems.
There is an evidence of disgruntled cheating users who actually bought cheating software for money and that makes me feel good. I wasn't aware, but e.g. aimbot script is worth $100, now heading to trash for those who bought it. Now, I guess it is clear what is our stance on cheating. But wel all agree that diversity is important, so if you ar one of affected and want to share alternative angle on this, you are very welcome to contact us for an interview.
